Sleek and polished, we have to agree, although the interior could certainly do with a few more Picasso touches. Slightly more compact than other models, you’ll feel safe in this Jeep without feeling out of your depth. The clutched drive, which favours the front wheels, may give you that little bit more control than other monstrous 4×4’s, and the comfy interior feels pleasantly sheltered considering you’re towering over the rest of humanity.

Choose from a lethargic 2.0 or 2.4 litre engine, but what you’ll save on money, you might well gain in boredom. For comfort and quality as well as a dramatic upgrade on looks, steer towards the Grand Cherokee, whose 6.1 litre engine will vastly improve an otherwise sluggish drive. For the slightly pricier but improved SUV, look to the Land Rover free lander 2 or Honda CR-V which have minor advancements, although still not exactly fierce competition.

Oozing practicality, you’re not really going to go wrong with this car. Reliable in all the right places, and with the ample quality Jeep always have to offer, there’s no real bones to pick. As far as SUV’s go, however, make sure do your homework, as the Compass could well point you in the direction of regret. It has to be said; there’s better out there. For real country contenders, the Land Rover Discovery or BMW X5 will make the rugged look effortless, not to mention smoulderingly fashionable.

Perfect for the executive turned explorer on weekends, it will sit between the two nicely. An expensive motor for a relaxed effort, but definitely more fun than that used Audi. Buy this car for toned down exploring and Sunday afternoon cruising, but if you’re going to off-road, consider taking a real Compass.

When you see trucks on the highway carrying different materials in their container or trailer I’m sure you appreciate the fact that what they are carrying doesn’t end up all over your windshield or the highway. Do you ever wonder what those tarps made of ?  No, we aren’t talking about a government bailout, we are discussing a tarpaulin, which is a sheet of heavy waterproof material used as a protective covering. How do we know the truck tarp covering the freight won’t break or come off?   Be assured in the fact that all the tarps you see should be installed according to the manufacturer’s specifications.  They are installed for both quality and safety.

As with most of the different types of tarps, adding side flaps will help prevent flapping.
