Bad Credit is Not that Bad
Many people feel that having a low credit score means that they have to accept poor treatment when they go to buy a car. We all seem to be aware that even those of us with bad credit can secure an auto loan, but for most of us with bad credit we seem to feel that means that we have to accept whatever we are told by a car salesperson. Nothing could be further from the truth. The web has empowered consumers like never before in history. With a little research we can avoid some of the worst scams that pervade the auto industry.
The bad credit scam is probably the worst scam out there. In this scam the dealer pulls your credit score and purposely tells you that your credit is worse than it actually is. From that point on the story just gets worse and worse, as you are led to believe that you need a much higher APR and downpayment. The simple solution to this is to know your credit score before you arrive to buy your car.
In the world of auto finance, information is king. If you know what you are doing you can avoid being tricked into a bad loan just by doing some research before you buy. If you know that your credit is poor then you can begin by looking for bad credit auto loans. This is not nearly as hard as it may seem at first. A simple Google search will bring up page after page of lending sites and many of them will list the requirements that you need to meet in order to secure a loan.
For those of us with bad credit, having a job with sufficient income is probably the most important thing we need to qualify. If you have been employed with the same employer for more than a year and have lived at the same address for the same amount of time and your income is at least $1500 per month then there is a good chance that most online lending services can find an auto loan for you. Once you are approved and receive your bank draft, you have a lot more control in the buying process.
