Buying A Used Land Rover
With the scrappage scheme closed and the economy still winding its way towards recovery, many motorists are still a little hesitant when it comes to buying a brand new or Used Land Rover. Land Rover’s aren’t cheap, that’s plain and simple. Keeping them on the road isn’t cheap either, with increased running costs, maintenance costs, tax and insurance. What’s more, these costs are only going to go up in the near future…
So, if you’re still set on buying yourself a Land Rover, what are your options? Well, one of the options open to you is to buy yourself a used Land Rover. Buying a used Land Rover is a pretty well tried and tested way of getting you the Land Rover you want, at a price to suit your finances. But of course, as with all used cars, examine each car as it comes and always be sure you know precisely what it is you’re buying before signing the dotted line.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that there aren’t any deals to be had out there. The Land Rover Defender is a timeless, rugged machine, and is a prime example of how doing your homework could land you with an absolute bargain. Three year old, base models can be fetched up for around £10,000, which isn’t very much at all when all is said and done. But of course, it is the research you do that counts. The Defender is a notoriously customisable 4×4, so models could vary profoundly from one to the next.
A model that’s sure to be a little more consistent in quality and variant is Land Rover’s flagship model: the Range Rover. Bought by families and footballers alike, the Range Rover has becomes something of an icon. Those devilish good looks aren’t easily forgettable, and the same goes for the lavish interior. Three year old base models can be fetched up for around £30,000 – that’s more than half of what they cost when brand new. If your budget is a little more forgiving, then £45,000 could land you a top spec, one year old model instead. Tempted? Why wouldn’t you be.
If it’s not top the range luxury, or a rugged workhorse you’re after, then Land Rover’s Discovery model might be the one for you. It’s gifted with the same gorgeous looks, the same luxurious interior, but in a slightly smaller, more nimble frame. It’s a huge hit with the families due to the sheer amount of space and comfort. What’s more, with three year old models being priced around £13,000, it’s relatively inexpensive to buy, if that’s what you’re looking for. Of course, you don’t have to buy a Used Land Rover. But if it’s a Land Rover you’re after, surely you can see the initial benefits buying used?
