Getting the Right Options on your Skid Steer Loader

Deciding to purchase a piece of equipment for your business is a big decision. The first part of the process is trying to narrow down which machine will actually be the best for what you need for your construction business. Once you finally decide which machine will work best for you, the decision process starts all over again as there are a host of options that you will be bombarded with before you can finalize your order. If you are choosing to purchase a skid steer loader here is some help on what options to look for and if these options are right for you.

One of the main options is whether you want a full cab or a canopy Skid Steer Loader machine. You may at first think that you want a cab, but if you think about it a bit, then you may see that this decision is not quite that simple. A lot of people will go in and out of their skid steer machine multiple times a day and opening the door, closing the door, opening the door, and closing the door fifteen to twenty times a day can get quite frustrating. So much so that sometimes operators end up removing the door on the cab to make it easier. If you think this will eventually be the case with your machine, it is not worth the money to purchase a unit with an enclosed cab.

On the other side of the spectrum, if you are doing work such as debris clearing, hammering, or any type of material that may be fly up in the air, you may want to consider a cab for safety. You can even get special class put on the cab door that is resistant to breaking and will protect the operator.

Another main option that needs to be decided upon when purchasing a skid steer loader are your hydraulics. There are thousands of tools that can be put on the front of this machine that you may not be purchasing now, but you may want to purchase later as your business grows and moves on to different tasks. These different tools usually require a more complex hydraulic set up. It is much easier to have this hydraulic set up built on the machine at the factory rather than after the fact. This is anther thing to discuss with your local sales rep to see what option will be best for you.  No matter what you decide, you are sure to enjoy using your new skid loader.
